BombSquad is a puzzle/game much like the popular Minesweeper on Windows. There are a variety of similar games for the Mac, but I've tried to go the extra mile and make BombSquad worthy of Mac OS X and its Aqua interface. I hope you think it is as good looking as I do!
I've also packed as many features as possible into this small download: Crunch Time, Zap Clicks, and many other features unworthy of trademark protection have been incorporated into the game play. Here's a brief overview of some of the features that make BombSquad great...
The BombSquad playing field is limited only by the size of your screen (and your courage). You can drag the lower right corner of the BombSquad window to size the field any way you want. BombSquad features a slider to change the grid sizing as well.
BombSquad features three levels of difficulty to meet the needs of expert and novice alike.
If you are online, BombSquad enters scores into the BombSquad Record Book. Since there are so many board size variations, scores are ordered by "speed" - how many squares per minute you manage to clear. Get the recognition you deserve!
Sometimes Minesweeper is too much like real life - one click on a bomb and you are through! BombSquad rectifies this situation with Crunch Time... you get some additional time to correctly mark another bomb before the game blows up. Crunch Time can be enabled/disabled through the preferences.
Having trouble figuring out the numbers and making sense of game play? Turn on ghost bombs in your preferences, and you'll be able to see where the bombs are. Then maybe the numbers will make more sense...
BombSquad provides help and instruction through Apple's easy-to-use help system.
In addition to the fun of game play, BombSquad gives all winning games a fortune cookie for the trouble. What will it say next?
