All installations of EmployeeVu include a free, non-expiring license for up to 25 active employees. Purchased licenses allow up to 500. See the Administrator Guide for licensing related instructions.
This release includes an upgrade for both the web application and database components.
The following new features, changes, or bug fixes are included in this release:
• Enhancement: The working minutes on office closure days can now be specified and leave can be booked for such days. For example, you can determine that all employees work a half-day on a given date and employees can book that half-day off as vacation.
• Enhancement: Leave requests scheduled on office closures (intentionally or due to schedule changes) are no longer obscured by non-working time in calendar views.

Important!
Take the system offline so that end users cannot access the application during the upgrade. See the section on managing Application State in the Administrator Guide for more information.
To upgrade from a previous version of EmployeeVu:
1. Download and save the EmployeeVu installer (Setup.exe) from
2. Run Setup.exe
3. Click Next
4. Read the license agreement and click I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click Next
5. Accept or change the default path and then click Next
6. Review the installation options and then click Install
7. Select Launch Config Manager to immediately begin upgrading EmployeeVu
8. Click Finish
To upgrade the database (if required):
1. Start the Configuration Manager
2. Under Database Tasks, click Upgrade database
3. To back up your database:
a. Click OK
b. Enter or select the backup file that will be created
c. Click OK
d. Click Proceed to perform the backup, then click OK when it's done
4. Click Proceed to perform the upgrade
To upgrade the web application:
1. Start the Configuration Manager
2. Under Web Application Tasks, click Upgrade application
3. Click OK to acknowledge the warning
4. Click Proceed to perform the upgrade
If you receive an error when running the Configuration Manager stating that "You have insufficient permissions on the selected SQL Server instance," it may be because SQL Server was installed by another user and your Windows account is not a member of the 'sysadmin' server role. See the Database Maintenance section of Installation Guide for instructions to grant yourself the necessary permissions.

Version 2012.3
This release includes an upgrade for both the web application and database components.
• Enhancement: Managers and approvers can now delegate approvals while they are away.
• Enhancement: Administrators can now add themselves as SQL Server sysadmins or application admins using the Configuration Manager. See the Installation Guide for details.
• Security change: Users in the application server's local 'Administrators' group are no longer recognized as application administrators automatically.

This release includes an upgrade for both the web application and database components.
• Enhancement: One or more specific email addresses can be CC'd on workflow transitions. For example, an HR admin can be CC'd every time a leave request is approved. This option has been added to the General Settings page. See page 11 of the Administrator Guide for more details.
• Enhancement: A new "raw" import mode has been added as an alternative to the Excel file import. See page 41 of the Administrator Guide for more details.
Version 2012.2
This release includes an upgrade for both the web application and database components.
• Enhancement: Fixed-width text files have been added as a payroll processing export format.
• Enhancement: For payroll processing exports, users can now configure column visibility, order, and widths as well as the payroll date format.
• Enhancement: Payroll processing exports can be filtered and exported by department, category, location and calendar, allowing users to produce multiple exports for each payroll.
• Enhancement: Default non-working time marked as working time can now be booked within leave requests.
• Enhancement: Day of the week is now indicated on the Gantt-style calendars using the first letter of the day in the column header area.
• Enhancement: Weekends are now subtly highlighted even if they are considered working days.
• Enhancement: SSL is now supported for SMTP email through System Settings (configuration file changes are no longer required).
Version 2012.1
• New Feature: Schedule copy or clear. Given a date range, users can now either copy and repeat a portion of their schedule or clear it.
• Fixed: The database optimizer returns an error when database ownership is changed after installation.
• Fixed: Other minor bugs.
