Panning

Panning allows you to move the graph's data directly, changing the graph's extents as you move your mouse's scroll wheel, or by using two fingers on your trackpad.

To adjust the panning for a graph, you must first ensure that it is selected in the list of graphs by clicking on it. The graph's title will redraw with white text on a blue background to indicate that it is selected.

Once selected, hold the Shift key and place your mouse cursor over the data area to enter panning mode.

Pan the graph data using a mouse or trackpad

Pan the graph data using your mouse's scroll wheel

TIP: If your mouse's scroll wheel only scrolls in the vertical direction, move your mouse below the X axis (where the tick labels are drawn) and then scroll your mouse.

Pan the graph data using a trackpad

TIP: You can constrain the panning to only one axis by placing your cursor in the space below the axis (where the tick labels are shown) before performing any of the above steps. This is especially helpful when using two-finger trackpad scrolling and you need to keep one of the axes locked during panning.
TIP: All of the above operations are undoable, so if you accidentally pan too far out of range, you can press Command-Z or select Edit > Undo to discard your zooming changes.
