You can show GarageRemote which MIDI messages to use by example.

  1. Make sure your MIDI controller is plugged into your Mac and is transmitting correctly. If GarageBand responds to things you play on your MIDI keyboard, you’re good to go.

  2. Make sure GarageRemote’s switch is in the “On” position. Image Alt

  3. In the GarageRemote preference pane, double-click the function you wish to edit. Image Alt

  4. Press the button on your MIDI controller corrsponding to the function you are configuring. You should see the message change as you press the buttons on your MIDI controller. Image Alt

  5. Hit the return key on your Mac to confirm your edit.

  6. Repeat for the remaining functions.

You are now ready to rock. Or whatever.

Note: If your MIDI controller has a “Stop” button, read this.
