Empty All Trash

The Trash is very valuable in case you mistakenly delete files. However, if you and any other users on your system forget to empty their Trash this can quickly eat up disk space. If you’re low on disk space, try emptying all Trash on your system.

How to empty all Trash:

Step 1

Choose Trash > Empty All Trash.

By default emptying the Trash may not immediately physically remove the files from your disk. If you want to get rid of the files for good, choose Trash > Secure Empty All Trash.

Important: these tasks will empty all Trash on your system, including that of other users on your Mac.
