Overview

Server Monitor for BusinessObject XI is a Windows application that can monitor the health of all the BusinessObjects servers in your company.

Server Monitor for Business Objects XI consists of two applications:

Client - This is a Windows application that visually represents the status of the many components of a BusinessObjects server: Services, Metrics, Jobs and Alerts.
Server - This is a Windows Service that monitors constantly the overall health of one or more BusinessObjects Enterprise servers. In case an alert is triggered it will be published to the Event Log or an email will be sent. This service has to be configured using the client application.

Server Monitor for BusinessObjects XI can monitor the following items:

Services - Monitors the health of the different BusinessObjects servers, and allows you to stop, start, restart or disable one or more of these servers. A different domain account must be specified in order to perform these operations.
Metrics - Over 30 real-time metrics are graphed for easy visualization and to keep track of the BusinessObjects servers' current status. These information can be easily pasted into Excel for further analysis.
Jobs - Get a quick snapshot of all the schedules and running instances on the server. Also you can pause, resume or delete one or more schedules at the same time.
Alerts - Runs a basic health-check on your BusinessObjects server to easily identify potential problems or bottlenecks with your systems.

This component will be downloaded from the Internet and installed automatically if required.

This install must be done manually using the BusinessObjects installation program.

Client	Installs the Windwos client application. This application works as a standalone monitoring application, but it can also be used to configure the Server Monitor Service.
Server	Installs the Server Monitor service component. The Client tool is needed to configure this service. The Client and the Server applications do not necessarily have to be installed on the same computer.
