Transmute is a cross-browser, cross-platform, free and commercial bookmark manager software implemented in Mono and designed to help users easily convert and transfer bookmarks between web browsers.
It is a organizer and converter graphical utility that lets users to easily import and export bookmarks from one format to another, remove duplicates, synchronize bookmarks, backup bookmarks, eliminate dead links, and transfer bookmarks between browsers.
Supports all the modern bookmarks formats
Transmute has been engineered in such a way that it can convert bookmarks formats from all modern web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Konqueror, Chromium, Google Chrome, SeaMonkey, Opera, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Flock.
Additionally, the application can also handle popular online bookmarks storage services, such as Mozilla Firefox Backup (JSON), Google Bookmarks, Delicious, Delicious/Yahoo!, as well as the XBEL (XML Bookmark Exchange Language) format.
Getting started with Transmute
To use this software on your GNU/Linux operating system, you must first download it from Softoware using the dedicated download button above. Save the zip archive on your Home directory, unpack it and open the extracted folder. Please note that you must have Mono installed before attempting to use Transmute.
Open the Terminal app, use the ‘cd’ command to navigate to the location of the extracted archive files (e.g. cd /home/softoware/TransmuteProPortable) and open the program by running the ‘mono TransmutePro.exe’ command in the terminal emulator.
Supported operating systems and languages
Being written entirely in the Mono programming language, Transmute will run successfully under GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It supports 32-bit and 64-bit installations of the aforementioned OSes. The application also works on Android devices.
At the moment, the software is translated into the English, Spanish, Czech, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, Russian, and Swedish languages.
